Dan Zaccagnino is an entrepreneur and former music-technology executive who has spent more than two decades building businesses at the intersection of creativity, culture, and technology. He co-founded the pioneering music platform Indaba Music and later held executive leadership roles at Splice, helping artists and creators bring their ideas to a global audience.

With family roots and relatives in Basilicata and Puglia, Dan has shared a personal connection to the region since his first visit at five years old. Nearly four decades of returning to its towns, tables, and traditions instilled in him a deep appreciation for the culture and craftsmanship of the Italian South.

That connection ultimately led Dan to partner with Daniele Annese and bring the olive oil of his family’s Puglian groves to America. Together, they founded Masseria Trullo to unite generations of Italian expertise with a modern vision, preserving the character of a deeply rooted tradition while introducing it to a new generation.

Dan is also a Certified Olive Oil Sommelier through the Olive Oil Times Education Lab, with training spanning olive cultivation and farming practices, harvesting and milling, sensory evaluation and quality, health and nutrition, and culinary applications.

Born among the ancient olive groves and white-stone masserie of Puglia, Daniele Annese learned the craft of olive oil from his father, continuing a tradition passed down through generations of his family.

For Daniele, olive oil has never been merely a business. It is a living expression of family, place, and the responsibility to care for the land entrusted to each generation. After taking over the family business, he paired that inherited knowledge with modern innovation and a lifelong ambition: to bring the authentic character of Puglian olive oil to tables across America.

Today, Daniele honors the same trees, traditions, and uncompromising standards that shaped his childhood, while carrying his family’s legacy confidently into the future.
